In race twinning with Misano, track safety between skis and motorcycles

Federico Zoccante, king of the Obereggen snowpark.
The athlete from Vicenza won the freestyle competition “Freestyle Frühling Session and Beach Party by Misano Adriatico” at the international snowpark in the South Tyrolean resort (20 minutes from Bolzano), which celebrated the second edition of the twinning between Obereggen and Misano Adriatico.
Zoccante preceded Tuscany’s Emanuele Bacci and American Emily Williams at the end of a spectacular competition illuminated by splendid sunshine, the highlight event of the Latemar Dolomites and Val d’Ega ski area.

The winner received 2 tickets for the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini MotoGp Grand Prix, scheduled on September 13, from Andrea Albani managing director and managing director of the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” who offered the tickets. “It was an exciting race thanks to the technical qualities of the participants, protagonists of incredible numbers on the snowpark ramps,” pointed out the president of the Bolzano-based Skateboardproject association Riccardo Larcher and his deputy Andrea Coppola. Skateboardproject organized the competition with the fundamental support of Morris Ferrari, shaper and point of reference of the Obereggen snowpark, and the collaboration of the facilities company “Obereggen Latemar SpA” led by CEO Benjamin Kirchmaier, the “Misano Participation Foundation: Sea, Sport and Culture” chaired by Dr. Luigi Bellettini and marketing consultant Antonino Minchillo.

A day also dedicated to safety on the slopes between skiing and motorcycling. “The sun-kissed day solidified the twinning with our friends from Misano Adriatico,” explained Thomas Ondertoller, marketing and communications director of the Obereggen Latemar SpA lift company, on the sidelines. The Obereggen Latemar SpA will conclude its winter season on April 21, Easter Monday, while Misano, one of the most popular summer tourist destinations on the Adriatic Sea, will open its doors on June 8. Thomas Ondertoller and Andrea Albani addressed the issue of safety on the ski slopes and on the circuit, laying the groundwork for possible joint projects in terms of prevention because, the two executives agreed, “it’s always about speed on the slopes.”

A PIADINERIA ROMAGNOLA ON THE SNOW… In Obereggen, the Dolomite massif of Latemar and the Adriatic Sea merged into one on the gentle snowpack of the resort, as it was in April 2024: the snowpark, amid general enthusiasm, was transformed into a “white beach” for the renowned Party at 2,000 meters by Misano Adriatico. As many as 30 Visitmisano-Fondazione Misano collaborators and lifeguards, in the presence of the mayor of the Adriatic resort Fabrizio Piccioni, set up a large kiosk where they prepared and cooked, on the spot, specialties from Romagna starting with piadinas: as many as 670 were distributed to the delight of the athletes but also of numerous skiers, skiers and snowboarders who had gathered on the snow of Obereggen for this event. At the same time Visitmisano illustrated the novelties of the summer season in a gazebo set up downstream of the Absam 6-seater chairlift.

VISIT MISANO. “In Misano as tradition dictates,” said President Luigi Bellettini, who was present in Obereggen with marketing collaborator Luca Santini, “we will propose an integrated summer vacation between the sea with beach services and the hinterland with its scenic qualities. In addition there will be major motorsport-related events, within the MWC “Marco Simoncelli,” one-of-a-kind experiences.
Collaborations such as the one with Obereggen, which we thank for its hospitality, constitute a promotional flywheel to be implemented both here on the slopes and in Misano where our friends from Alto Adige will be present at the end of April.”
OBEREGGEN TO MISANO. From April 30 to May 11, it will be representatives of Obereggen who will illustrate the novelties of the upcoming summer season of the Latemar Dolomites in Misano, on the occasion of the first Spring Oktoberfest in Italy: the “Frühlingsfest Romagna,” the brainchild of marketing consultant Antonino Minchillo.
